First up a side note about me. I love blogging and I swear by the powers of the blog for driving traffic. 10 years ago I started a personal blog called ‘The Vintage Inn‘ that was just a fun way to share my love of fun topics from the 1920s-1960s. It was also a way for me to stretch my marketing legs and see what I could do ORGANICALLY (aka meaning no paid ads) to get my blog found. This is how I ended up on Pinterest (well besides drolling over the imagery like everyone else).

Now 10 years later my two top referrers to my blog are Search Engines and Pinterest. I also have over 11K followers on Pinterest & avg around 850,000 views a month to my profile. YOOZA! Pinterest is amazing and my blog content is what helped get me there.

Here are Several Reasons Why You Should Add a Blog to your Website to Help with Traffic On and Off Pinterest:

Helps with Content for Pinterest

In addition to improving your online presence, blogging can also help with content for Pinterest. As a visual search engine, Pinterest relies heavily on high-quality images / videos and Keyword descriptions. By creating blog content that includes visually appealing images, you can share these to Pinterest and create pins that are more likely to be shared and clicked on by Pinterest users. This, in turn, can drive more traffic to your website and ultimately lead to more conversions. Plus, Pinterest can be a great source of inspiration for blog topics, as you can see what topics and images are resonating with your target audience.

By incorporating Pinterest into your blogging strategy, you can create a powerful marketing tool that not only drives traffic to your site but also helps you build a loyal following of engaged customer.

Blogging Builds Credibility and Trust

In addition to driving website traffic and generating leads, blogging also plays a crucial role in building credibility and trust with your audience. By consistently providing valuable and informative content, you can establish yourself as a thought leader in your industry and gain the trust of potential customers.

Customers are more likely to do business with a company they trust and perceive as an authority in their field. By sharing your expertise through blog articles, you can demonstrate your knowledge and expertise while providing value to your target audience.

Furthermore, blogging allows you to engage with your audience and create a dialogue with them. By responding to comments and feedback (idea: answer a problem they might have), you can show your customers that you value their opinions and are invested in providing them with the best possible experience.

In today’s competitive digital landscape, building credibility and trust is essential for business success. Blogging is a powerful tool that can help you achieve this goal while also driving website traffic and generating leads.,

Blogging Generates More Leads and Conversions

Blogging can also be an effective tool for generating more leads and conversions. By crafting blog posts that provide valuable information and insights, businesses can establish themselves as industry thought leaders and build trust with potential customers. By including calls-to-action in their blog posts, businesses can further encourage readers to take the next step in their customer journey. Whether it’s signing up for a newsletter, downloading a free resource, or making a purchase, blogs can help move prospects further down the sales funnel. By consistently producing high-quality content, businesses can also attract a steady stream of leads over time, leading to more conversions and increased revenue. In the next section, we’ll explore how businesses can leverage their blog to boost their search engine optimization (SEO) efforts.

Blogs Boost Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

By regularly publishing high-quality blog content, businesses can not only drive website traffic, but also boost their search engine optimization (SEO) efforts. Search engines like Google prioritize websites that have fresh, relevant content, and blogging is a great way to consistently provide that content. By incorporating relevant keywords and optimizing blog posts for search engines (adding keywords to images, keywords in title etc), businesses can improve their website’s visibility and ranking in search results (this is now Pinterest works too). Additionally, blogs can attract inbound links from other websites, which further improves SEO. In the next section, we’ll explore how blogging can be a cost-effective marketing strategy for businesses of all sizes.

Blogging is a Cost-Effective Marketing Strategy (Perfect for Small Businesses!)

Traditional marketing tactics like billboards, flyers, and print advertisements can be expensive, and their reach is limited to a specific audience. Social Media Ads are also expensive. Blogging, on the other hand, has a relatively low cost of entry and can reach a much wider audience through social media and search engines.

By consistently publishing high-quality blog content, businesses can establish themselves as thought leaders in their industry, build brand awareness, and create a loyal following of readers. This audience can then be leveraged for future marketing efforts, such as promoting products or services or running targeted ad campaigns.

Another cost-saving benefit of blogging is its ability to repurpose content. A single blog post can be used across multiple channels, such as social media, email marketing, and even print materials. By repurposing content in this way, businesses can save time and money while still reaching their target audience with valuable information.

IMPORTANT LAST NOTES:

In reality it does take time to get a blog off the ground, so this is why I’m writing this blog post HERE on my Pinterest business page so that you can get things started ASAP. Start off simple. Write about who you are and how you can help your customers. Use keywords that your customers are searching for and send it off into the search world. Don’t forget to SHARE SHARE SHARE!

As the saying goes, “Content is king,” and now is the time to start creating great content and reaping the rewards. So, start blogging and watch your traffic soar!

Lastly, if you are reading anything about Pinterest and all the changes that are happening with the website, then you know that it’s moving to really focus on shopping. So will blogs even be relevant ON Pinterest? Well I don’t have a crystal ball, but I still think they will.

Pinterest is not changing to be the next Amazon, they will still relay on what has made them popular in the past…beautiful imagery / videos & helpful content that guides their users to purchases or answers. Yes you may see more shopping content, but your blog content will still be on the platform and will still show up in searches for those who are looking for what you have. It’s is important to remember that Pinterest is in the end still a search engine and if someone is looking for your content, the platform will serve it up to them.
